How fortunate we are to be part of this amazing team of individuals working to prepare the stage for the greatest event on earth. Quite a bold statement given the scale of events on our little planet, however how can we not be inspired by the athletes of the world doing their best here in Rio in 13 days time?
I asked a colleague one day if he would post a letter for me, he replied “he would do his best”. He then took my letter and ran at top speed to the corner post box near our office and then back again as if chased by a demon. When he returned I asked him “why did you run so fast to deliver my letter?”, he simply stated that he had to stay true to his word, and when he said “he would do his best”, he realised that to do that, he would have to run at his best.
There are two parts to this, one; do what you say, and two; never be afraid of delivering your best, people will respect you for it, no question, but more importantly, you will respect you for it!
