The coordination effort behind mobilising the volume of equipment and people to deliver the games is simply huge! And after 20 years of doing this I still get a kick out of seeing it all come together. And I am not at all saying we are there yet, because with this many days till the kick off whistle blows, there is still a lot to do!
However today represented yet another milestone as the teams powered up the massive combined video & scoreboards in the Olympic Stadium. It may seem like an obvious “tick box” kind of task, but to the teams working tirelessly to install, check and recheck all of these elements it is a real sense of achievement when we get to flick the switch. And to the power guys who made the connections today, thank you, you made a lot of people happy and breathe a sigh of relief.
So each day we move forward with our preparations to deliver what we all believe are going to be an amazing games.
