How cool is this! Venue inspections prior to games are usually pretty busy with checking cabling, connectivity, WiFi, timing & scoring, power, scoreboards, video boards, audio systems and everything else techy in between!
Today was a bit special when we noticed these golf buggies…with NO drivers!
What we were quickly assured was that the buggies were not runaways, they were in fact fully autonomous. They meet you at the front door of the clubhouse where you unload your golf clubs directly onto the buggy, then whilst you ready yourself in the club house with perhaps a quick cup of tea or coffee, the buggy autonomously makes its way to pick you up from in front of the locker room, then takes you to the first tee.
Whilst not on the event equipment list for any TEC team to deliver just yet, who knows what is just around the corner…hmmm…”Tesla” anyone?
