Building venues has to be one of the toughest parts of this project delivery.
What goes on behind the scenes operationally is one thing; transporting, feeding, watering and accommodating the athletes, VIP’s, sponsors, spectators, press, broadcasters and workforce, is all planned and executed with to the minute detail. However, when you take a step back and look at what goes into building a venue to support this cast of thousands, one can really start to appreciate the effort being made by each venue team to ensure these massive sport arenas are delivered.
This post shows what it literally looks like from within a 15,000 seat structure under construction in the middle of a beach. The red cabling red that snakes its way through the metal work is to support the broadcast commentary positions, from where the events story will be narrated live to TV audiences around the world. It is wonderful to observe this coming together.
Happy 23 days to go!
