Oba! We have now reached my favourite part of the Olympic project delivery.
When I went for my run this morning I was fortunate enough to witness the sunrise on the 30th day before the games. I made my way down along Ipanema Beach to one of my favourite spots in Rio near Praia do Diabo, a tiny beach nestled between the rocks of Arpoador.
“30 days to go” represents a significant milestone in any Olympic city’s journey, and I am so excited to be here in Rio to see this games come to life. Yes, there have been challenges and there will no doubt be many more in the remaining last few weeks, however I no longer doubt or question if it will happen, as I know from every games to date, somehow the Olympic spirit takes hold and carries us all across the finish line…to the opening ceremony! (OK slight oxymoron there!)
Happy 30 days to go! And lets see what the next 30 days brings!
