Ready for a road event! Road Cycling is one of the first medal events starting on day 1 of the games here in Rio.
As you can imagine, there is a massive amount of forward planning and infrastructure deployment needed prior to the cyclists get under way from the mass start at Forte Copacabana. The course now has most of the barriers deployed in the spectator and urban areas along the 241.5km Field of Play. Which I have to admit was quite a surprise when I went for my run this morning, if only they had left a few sections out to simplify the road crossing. It is however quite exciting to see all this now being dropped into place, the games are almost here, bring it on!
