I feel like my life is a perpetually referenced to an event countdown clock!
The Summer Universiade is second only to the Olympic Games in terms of sports, venues and athletes. With an estimated 50-60% of the circa 10,000 Universiade athletes going on to compete in the Olympics later in their careers. In Taipei we will see 22 sports in 38 competition venues, spread over 12 days. We will see over 120 countries represented from the 2500 strong international university community.
Once again it is wonderful to see all the hard work in planning come together in these final days of implementation. It is shaping up to be a great Universiade, can’t wait!
